I just listened to a youtube video and the guy said he does a ratio of 80/20 with cashing out the 80 and leaving at least 20% in.

I use my age as a guide. The younger you are the higher risk and the older you are the less risk you want to take. At 50 yo it would be 50-50%, in risk/safe. This was back when bonds, cash and stock seemed to be a fair play. Not the case anymore. I would suggest silver, gold, crypto, land-realestate, collectables. Cash is not my choice at all anymore. I would suggest having some cash on hand if the atm's and bank go on holiday.
