Is it just me, or is anybody else sick of the word 'Global'?. It's everywhere, and it's a 'buzzword' that is surely part of the agenda.
Global this, and Global that...... Grrrrrrr...
I think there's a huge problem with political lexicon and discourse in general. My biggest gripes are with how everything seems to get reduced to a meme these days.
Another bug bear of mine is the constant framing of political debate within a 'left' versus 'right' paradigm. I think this paradigm is a huge part of the problem with political discourse today, because it obfuscates issues that don't necessarily need to be categorized in such a way.. I believe the left/right paradigm is out of date, although it perhaps still has some relevance for the United States.
I partly agree with you on the overuse of the term 'global', although I use the term a lot myself. I think a better substitute for the term 'global' might be the term 'collectivist'.
I think Jean has pretty much summed it up quite well!
