Reasons why I believe the earth is round:
- The moon and the other planets are round.
- TimeZones. It's always day somewhere and night somewhere.
- The sun gets lower and lower as you travel away from the equator.
- During a lunar eclipse, the shadow of the earth on the moon is curved.

- Job 9:6, "Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble." This verse says that the earth has pillars underneath it.
- Psalm 75:3, "When the earth and all its people quake, it is I who hold its pillars firm."

- The Arabic word "Kura" means ball; its verb "Yukawer يُكَوِّرُ" means to make into a ball. The Quran says that the wrapping of the night and the day makes a ball (sphere).

My entry into alt media and "conspiracy theory" (I hate that term) was when I realized that the official story of 9/11 made very little sense. There are so many unexplainable circumstances and areas where the official story is questionable. This was a life changing event for me. I so wanted to believe what I'd been told, but there were so many holes that hit me like a ton of bricks. Sometimes I wish I didn't start looking into this stuff. I guess I like pursuing the truth, which is why we're all here. Hopefully I'm not on too many government lists as a result. I guess that ship has sailed, (flat earth pun intended).

Realizing this made me also realize that it's important to think critically and look beyond what we're being told to believe. With that said, I'm not ready to completely accept any theory on any topic, including geocentrism/heliocentrism, without first considering an abundance of evidence. What worries me the most about going too far down the Flat Earth topic is that this could very easily be a way to discredit legitimate alt media efforts at a time when mainstream media is hungry to do so. This could be psych warfare at worst or disinformation at best.

With that said, there are solid topics for the Flat Earth worth considering. Cameras on balloons going up to over a hundred thousand feet and not seeing any curvature is a problem. Seeing structures miles away that should be hidden by curvature (there is an equation for this that gets destroyed in numerous examples) is a problem. The legitimacy of images from space is a problem (composites, Photoshop mistakes). The trustworthiness of NASA is a problem. Navigational issues in the southern hemisphere is a problem. The secrecy behind Antarctica is maybe not a problem, but very interesting. A treaty was signed by many counties around the same time as the space race. Makes the ISS very interesting too.

If flat earth is accurate, I don't have all the answers. Many in the flat earth community will scream that satellites are fake and globe believers will say they are real. This is a tough one for me because I'm a tech guy and how satellites function makes sense to me. I think satellite are possible in the flat earth model, and this is one area where disinformation could be attributed.

Now, in regards to timezones, the flat earth model still works. There are videos showing how this is possible. We know timezones work. No argument here. The sun traversing over the plane can support timezones as we know them.

I don't believe that something else being round proves that our world is round. One doesn't have to be indicative of the other.

I'll admit that eclipses are a very strong argument for heliocentrism.

I agree with Chris, keep an open mind, be humble, admit you don't know everything, and think critically. My mind isn't made up, but I will say that I question our reality and what we're told now more than ever. This is either a giant conspiracy or one heck of a distraction.

I find this a interesting topic, If you look up Astrolabe you find it is a device that was used to survey cities and the world in the old days the mathematics used was based on a geocentric model. Also the Mayans and other cultures used geocentric models when mapping the stars and they are still fairly accurate to date.

James Clark Ross was a early explorer that claimed the earth was flat and supposedly traveled 69,000 miles around over a 3 year period. Also a man named William Carpenter wrote a book called “100 Proofs the Earth is Not a Globe”. I find the whole dialogue of this now interesting most people will not talk about it at all and automatically call you crazy for even considering it.

Neil Degrasse Tyson claims the earth is "Pear: shaped. I have searched google for images of earth and cannot find anything that it does not look like it was tampered with CGI.

I have read somewhere for GPS satellites that can be mimicked using Cellphone towers.

I honestly do not know if it is a sci-op as the emerging of it in culture now. I learned about the heliocentric in school i have not seen really any proof on it like most people just blind belief in what i was told. I agree with everyone here think critically and do not discredit something because you were taught different.

Yes, the earth is flat if you want it to be. You're also living in a computer simulation. YOU are the center of reality! Now go forth, Truth Warriors, and expose this to the sheeple. To be quite honest, if the world is round, the flat earthers should have been squashed miserably awhile ago. Unfortunately for the globe believers, the flat earthers are gathering steam fast, and as they may not actually be providing facts that prove that the earth is flat, they are providing proof that certain aspects of a globe earth just mathematically do not make sense. ( seeing skylines from afar that should not be able to be seen etc. )

I don't know how many times I passed over this flat earth topic, claiming in my own head, that it was ridiculous. But as I slowly got into the subject, I realized quite quickly that the officially story about earth has many inconsistencies. The flat earth debate will continue forever if the flat earthers don't get more organized and start compiling their own field evidence. I am not quite on board with the earth being flat, but there are definitely experiments that can be done by citizens that can either prove flat earth or disprove globe earth or vice versa.

I think the major experiments that could be done are:

1. Let a civilian group of researchers into Antarctica to conduct their own research. ( the reason for civilians not to be allowed in Antarctica is curious to say the least)
2. I know one thing the flat earthers want is real unobstructed footage of the earth rotating for 24 hours. ( no cgi, no airbrushing, no composites ) I found it amazing that there are apparently no cameras on satellites taking photos and videos of the earth full time if even at a bare minimum if it was only to follow weather patterns in real time. ( someone correct me if I'm wrong about this)
3. If Neil degrasse Tyson says the world is a pear shape, then let's call him on it and ask for pictures to prove this. ( not composites) or even better yet, video of the pear shaped earth spinning.
4. Some flat earthers say they would like to see a picture or Australia upside down.
5. Why don't we put some of these top experts to a lie detector? Or at a bare minimum, ask them if they would participate in a study of that nature.

What everyone, and I mean everyone, flat earther or globe earther, needs to understand Is that the world is only one of these choices. I don't believe it's whatever you want to indentify it to be, I'm not that far into the twilight zone yet. But if the earth is truly flat, and we are actually being lied to by all the major sources of information in this area...... then that's a really, really big deal. That actually changes everything. Because then we need to start asking questions like, 1) why are we being lied to? 2) who are the ones lying to us? Because if the earth is flat and we arent being told about it, there is obviously a coverup of some kind, so 3) what would the cover up be? What are they covering up?
If there is a coverup, you know and I know, that it's not gonna be good for the general public.

So utilize that open mind, globe earthers and flat earthers, remember, it's only when we stop arguing about everything and come together, that progress will be made.

Keep in mind that even the original poster, Batman, even HE thinks the earth is round; the only reason he placed this topic at all was to try to denigrate Christianity and promote Islam. Seriously.

A photograph of Earth is not sufficient proof? Have you not seen one? Do you need to personally fly into outer space (if there is, in fact, such a thing as outer space), and see for yourselves?

The earth is definitely flat FULL STOP

So I've thought more about this topic that won't seem to go away. This is going to sound completely retarded, but as I said before, I don't give a shit. Just bouncing questions around. What if the world is both. Round and flat. Let me explain..... have you heard of the famous double slit experiment? There will be some that know this, and some that don't. For those that don't know what it is...

But an explanation is that light particles go through two slits located on one surface to produce the lighted effect on another surface located behind the 2 slit surface. Doesn't sound that interesting huh. But.... what the scientist noticed is that sometimes the experiment showed one pattern and other times it showed a different pattern. Obviously this doesn't make sense. But they found after doing this experiment thousands of times that the reason for the difference is the conscious observation of the viewer As the particles were passing through the slits but before they hit the back surface. When the observer watches the experiment, the light acted as a particle. If the observer didn't watch the experiment, the light acted as a wave, producing a wave pattern. Yes, I know. It makes no sense. But I find this highly interesting. And it's made me extremely interested in quantum physics.

Let's take this and try to apply this same "non-logic" to the flat earth theory. Maybe the earth is round if we view it, acting like a particle, but when we don't view it, maybe it's flat, acting like a wave. Or vice -versa. Just a thought. Maybe it's a completely obsurd thought, I get that. But maybe it's not.

I wonder if some of the posters here are just web-bots sent out to disrupt and distract or if people are really so stupid they think the Earth is flat, or in some kind of a dome. I am sure there are many lonely people who merely seek attention clutching at whatever they can to waste someone's time for a few minutes just so the lonely people can feel not so lonesome for a short while.
