I was part of a town meeting with the Washington State representatives. They were talking about how they wanted to raise taxes to support schools. All I asked was "What percent of that support was to go to immigrant projects?"
That's all I asked. No one else asked the question. They kept saying they needed more questions.They totally ignored the question. I knew that Obama had moved more Middle Easterners into our state. They answered other people's questions but not mine. Not even to say, "Well we don't know the answer to that yet." The only options we are were given, were to raise the tax or find the money somewhere else, but not restructure the failing education system unless it required more money to do it.
