Remember that the underwhelming CNN audio are only the first batch, i.e. Part 1. I have to believe O'Keefe wouldn't go to this trouble if he didn't have something substantial. I think he's lulling them into a false sense of security so they breathe a collective sigh of relief, "Oh, that! Whew! I was actually worried!" Then, he hits them with career ending leaks.
